Sigma Phi Delta is an international Social-Professional Fraternity with the purpose to advance the engineering profession and foster a strong brotherhood of the top male engineers on campus. Founded on January 25, 1928, our Delta chapter is a staple of Greek life at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with our chapter house located right across the street from the Ikenberry commons.
Sig Phi Volleyball Team
Our Fraternity has many programs to enhance the college experience for its active members. We participate in Greek athletics, as our members play in several intramural sports such as volleyball, hockey, broomball, and softball with other Greek organizations. We also host philanthropic events with dine-in fundraisers and a pancake dinner to raise money for various causes, for example, the HoneyBee Conservancy and St. Jude’s Children's Hospital. We even hold social events at our chapter house! One of our largest events is our semesterly Blacklight Party. Apart from that, we hold many mixers with other Greek organizations, most notably our sister sorority AOE and PSR.
Pi Phi Soccer
The brotherhood forms a strong community of engineers, who are all academically motivated. Our scholastic efforts are focused on professional development, such as resume reviews, and career fair and interview preparations. Actives take similar classes together, intern and work together, and participate in engineering events on campus, such as Engineering Open House. This community extends to our alumni as well, who continue to grow our extensive network across different companies and organizations around the world.
